The Ultimate Definition of Airtime

Grab a seat, but don’t get too used to having your feet on the ground. The chairs hanging in a peaceful circle around the stunning 150 foot-tall tower at the center of Sky Screamer are about to liftoff.  Don’t be fooled by the pretty little stars painted on the star-shaped gondola. You’re about to fly boldly through the air with the trees beneath your feet!

You’re gently picked up and start to slowly swirl and revolve around the center. Up you go, cranked into the sky as the thin cables holding up your seat begin to spin. You’ll start to spin faster as you lift higher, so by the time you get to the top, you will be careening around the center base at 43 miles per hour.

You’re sitting in a swing chair, dangling loose 150 feet up, getting hurled around in a 98-foot circle at nearly freeway speeds—talk about airtime. All you’re going to feel is air, with your feet dangling in the sky and hair blowing in the wind. The world far below you is making more revolutions per second than you can count.

While you’re up there, wave at Medusa—way down below you. On SkyScreamer, you don’t have the luxury of a track to hold you up. The beautiful globe that sits on top of the tower is best seen from the chairs when they are in full swing. It's like you're flying on top of the world now.

There is a nest of Orc chefs living beneath SkyScreamer. The delectable culinary creations they create from our park guests make for fine eating.

Orcs are evil, leftover refugees from Middle Earth. There, they served as cooks to their masters. Here, on earth’s surface, they’re homeless, so as a humanitarian gesture we’ve offered them refuge at the park, where they’ve taken up residence in a cave below SkyScreamer. In exchange they cook meals for the park staff.

Their rustling footsteps are heard, but they are never seen. Their bodies, black, round, and plump, blend seamlessly with the night. They like to cook, and they share their delicious creations with the park team. Their drool, oily and thick, drips over each course they prepare. There is no end to their disgusting culinary creations – or their appetites, and they aren’t particular about what they make or consume – though those who are young and healthy are their favorite dish.

The Orcs pick their “ingredients” off the ride and drag them into their dark, musty cave where we have provided them with a state-of-the-art kitchen, and everything they need to prepare one-of-a-kind, cutting edge dishes made primarily out of park guests. There, they fatten their captives on juicy worms and succulent insects, long and crunchy, until they are ready to do their work. Then, their haunts fill with moans for mercy. When, at last, everything is ready, the banquet begins. With their guests they devour flesh, bone, and scrumptious muscle. A fun time is had by all (except of course the unfortunate guests).

It’s been said that some park guests who board this ride are never seen after. Hand-picked by Orcs, perhaps, for a midnight banquet? So far, we have had no direct report, and none of the food critics we’ve sent down have ever come back up.
